Replying to Comments thru Email Tutorial

Okay so I realize, most people probably know how to do this already, but just in case there is anyone out there like me who hasn't discovered this yet, I figured I would post what I found.  Of course, I think it is nicest to visit the persons blog and leave a comment plus the added bonus of usually finding lost of fabulous new ideas when you visit a blog but I really like to respond to all of my comments and it can get incredibly time consuming, so I started searching and found an html code that you can add to your template and it will add a "Reply to Comment" link after each comment.  But after searching through my html finding the proper spot to paste it and testing it out I realized it was basically a waste because all it does is put "@the commenters name" then post your comment....um, yeah, I could have done that on my own without having to mess with html.  Then, FINALLY I discover that if you just simply hit the reply button when your comment message comes to your email it will email the commenter directly!  Simple huh?!?....all that html junk for nothing!

The stinkeroo part is when they don't leave an email address to reply too (especially when they ask a question). I would love it if Blogger added the direct-reply feature to the comment section!

Replying to the e-mail only works if they've set up their e-mail in their profile. I've seen a couple of posts where they talk about how to do this for exactly this reason.

I reply by e-mail to a majority of my comments and if they are particularly clever or funny I will go visit their blog. I wish everyone would show their e-mail addresses and that they would have their blog linked to their profile. Such a bummer when I go to say hello and just can't. :(

I totally agree with the others! I love commenting back to people and it makes me so sad when they don't have their email set up. I wish there was a way to tell blogger.com to set up a reply button.
