Prom Dress Sneak Peek

Well, I guess I am just all about sneak peeks lately!  Usually, I don't like to show something until it is completely finished, but since my sister is soooo incredibly hard to please....remember the homecoming dress...when she came over to try on her prom dress today, I was expecting it to be torture!  I have really been busting my hiney on this dress!  Especially, since the two patterns I am using are completely different styles of dresses:

It has definately been a chore, but I was so excited because she actually liked it....The words "I love it!  It's exactly what I wanted" actually came out of her mouth!  So I was so excited, I had to show you how it's coming along.  The biggest part is done....oh, dear God, puh-lease don't let me ever have to sew a zipper onto gathers again!!!!  Wow! That was a pain! Especially, when you consider I sewed one side on backwards the first time! Blech!  I was just ready to throw the whole thing in the trash!...No really...If it had been something I was making for me, it would actually be in the trash right now!  But here it is...well the bottom back of it anyway.  I especially love it because it is my first godet ever.  The back isn't going to be quite so low.  I am going to put in a hook and eye or something to close it up a little more....I could have taken the zipper out and put it in a little higher and let out some of the gathers, but we all knew that wasn't happening!  Anyway, enough babble.  Here it is....please ignore her shorts sticking out but otherwise you'd be looking at her behind!  Well, almost...it's really low.

SOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!! I LOVE it. Can I get one? :) My husband works at a bank so we go to all kinds of fundraisers and a dress like this would be awesome.

Great job! Your daughter is a lucky girl. :)

Love it! It reminds me of that amazing orange dress that Charlize Theron wore to some award ceremony!
