I was super excited when I was contacted by My Memories a few weeks ago to try out their My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software , but I was also a little nervous.  To be honest, I have never really been a fan of scrap booking.  Don't get me wrong, I think the results are wonderful, but I have just never been very good at it.

I always thought it would be so hard to design a layout, too.   And don't even get me started on how bad I am at figuring out software!  I mean, I usually can, but typically by the time I've got it figured out, I'm ready to throw my computer out the window!  But I do like trying new things, Sophie's birthday is coming up tomorrow (we don't have her party till the end of the month to give us and everyone else time to catch up after the holidays), and you guys know how I like to do anything diy!  So I channeled Tim Gunn, and said to myself "come on April!  We can make it work and do a diy mermaid invite!"

So I started playing around with it, and here's how Sophie's mermaid birthday invite turned out:

I had such a good time designing it and playing around with the software!  It is so easy to use, and it does so many things I didn't realize it did at first.  You can upload pics and easily cut them out into shapes...like the circle pic of Sophie in her mermaid invite.  I can't even tell you all the cool stuff you can do with this software!  I also plan on using it to make cupcake toppers, a banner, and other decorations for her party.  I can't wait to get started on it!  I'll be sure to post pics!

Fabric Scrap Giveaway???? Anyone interested??

I saw a couple days ago that Jaimelynn over @  I ♥ Naptime had asked her readers what they would most like from a giveaway, and they said fabric scraps!!!  Awhile back I asked the same question, and you guys also said fabric.  I had actually thought of doing this because I absolutely HATE to waste fabric, but I really never end up doing anything with my scraps, so they just sit around and clutter up my sewing room.  I never did it though because I thought no one would be interested, but apparently someone is!  So, here's what I am thinking.  From now on, I will keep a large flat rate box in my sewing room and all my fabric scraps will go straight into the box, when it's full I will post the giveaway.  Would anyone be interested in something like that?  I know I would feel a lot happier knowing my extra fabric was going to make something great rather than in the trash or just sitting on a shelf somewhere.  So, let me know what you guys think!
