Football Themed Baby Shower ~ Geaux Tigers!!

Last year I threw a football themed baby shower for my cousin. I found these pics a couple weeks ago and have been meaning to post them, and I am just finally getting around to it.

I bought some teeny little brown paper bags and decorated them with little football stickers.  Then, I put candy along with a thank you note from Amanda & Brock (mommy & baby).  The big bags are actually gold even though they don't look that way in the picture

The "Baby Shower" sign is actually cloth diapers, and I cut our felt letter and used 505 spray to ahere them so that they could be removed later and we could use the diapers.  I saw this on Plan the Perfect Baby Shower and stuck with it but now I wish I had made some of those embellish burp clothes that would have been really cute.

The circles you see hanging are a mobile we made out of purple and gold paper and we put football themed images on them...sorry I forgot to take a close up pic....not to mention I didnt have a blog at the time so you know.

My cute diaper cake...Please tell me what is so hard to understand about this concept!  Sadly, it was completely over my family's head and most of them could not understand why I would want to wrap a cake in diapers...I mean come on guys!!!  I swear, my last name is really not Boudreaux or Thibedoux!  lol...if you don't get that joke, just google "Boudreaux & Thibedoux"

I know you've seen the tutorials for these.  They're everywhere.  Although, I will toot my own horn and say I actually made this without have ever seeing one...I thought I was so clever...

Losing the bear people...
There are actually a ton of pics after this one of us cracking up over it...I can't,for the life of me,see why we thought that was so hilarious...

I decorated this cake using the book Born to be a Tiger as my inspiration/model.  It looked waaay better in my head, but I still think it turned out pretty good for an amateur.  And fyi, the baby's name is Brock, NOT Brack!..my dye bled.

Oh well...it tasted pretty good!

Keeping with the tailgating/football theme we had "beer" (root beer, although I am sure you guessed that) iced down.

And tons of food...

Amanda threw all her tissue paper on the floor and we let the kids roll around in it.  They had a blast.

For the games, we played baby shower bingo and nursery rhyme jeaporady.  They were both huge hits and I think I downloaded them both from  Plan the Perfect Baby ShowerThe invites looked like tickets to a football game.  I made them on my computer that crashed so I can't show you what they looked like...

I love making diaper cakes. I have made them for several baby showers and even shipped on out of state to a cousin as a surprise. I think they are such a cute idea for decoration and a gift. Two in one is great for me. I love the LSU idea. Being from La I know what LSU means to many. Great job everything looked great.

Adorable! I love that it was not completely traditional! I made a diaper cake for a girl at work who was throwing a shower and apparently she had never seen or heard of one. She know believes I am the craftiest girl ever. Oh if only she knew....
