Girl Boy Girl Inspired

Girl Boy Girl Inspired

HI! I am Brooke from Girl Boy Girl Inspired.  I am a SAHM, but also work from home running my etsy shop, Bella Boo's Bowtique  & my shop's Facebook page.   Not to mention, before long I will be helping my husband take over his parents heating and air conditioning business. I absolutely love making bows & other hair accessories, appliqué shirts & onesies, and all the other crafting projects I have on my plate!!  And I LOVE doing it all from home with my children! I have a loving and supporting husband and 3 awesome kiddos! All of them are what inspire me to keep doing what I do!

Thank you April for letting me guest post on your blog today! This is super exciting for me! So what I am going to share with you today is a super fun Valentine’s appliqué. This can be done on a t-shirt or a onesie! I absolutely love making appliqué shirts and then pairing them up with one of my tutus and accessorizing it with a bow made by me!

The first step is to find or hand draw a picture or saying for your appliqué.  I hand drew my template but you could always print something off the computer too.  Just type it out in word then print. Then, cut those letters or shapes out and trace them backwards on the smooth side of the heat and bond paper. Then, cut the letters out of the sewable heat and bond.

Now you will need to pick your fabric. I decided to go with red for the letters and zebra print for the heart! I thought it would add a fun element and I knew I could make a super cute matching bow for the outfit! Then you will iron the letters onto the backside of the fabric.

Next, cut out fabric letters and heart and iron them onto the shirt or onesie. You can put it all in one line or stack the letters like I did. Now it is time to sew around the letters and heart. I chose to use pink thread just for another added touch!

Once all letters and heart are sewn around you are finished!!! Now just make your tutu and bow and you will have a complete outfit!!!

If you have any questions feel free to comment on my blog or email me at brookedouglass@yahoo.com.  I love what I do and I love hearing other people's comments and opinions.  Thank you April for having me, I enjoyed it soooo much!
