Under stitching ~ A Tutorial

When I posted the Aimee Dress the other day, I mentioned that the pattern didn't call for you to under stitch the lining, and I had someone ask what under stitching is.  So here a quick little tutorial on under stitching...

Under stitching is basically just stitching the seam allowance to the lining to keep it from peeking out of the garment...Here's how you do it.

btw:  if you need the pics larger, just click on them

I had already trimmed my seam allowance when I thought to take pics, but you should really do that after you do the under stitching.

Just to give you an idea of where I did my under stitching on this bodice.

See, easy...  let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for sharing this quick tutorial. I confess that I have several Vogue patterns that call for understitching and I HATE their instructions for it! This post is definitely bookmark worthy--

Thank you! I asked and kept returning to your post to see if you had a chance to explain and this was wonderful! It really gives it a finished look. I had to read it about 5 times to really get it and then, duh, so simple!
Thank you for such great instructions.
