My New-Old Chairs...

The hubs and I hit an estate sale yesterday morning, and I instantly feel in love with these two chairs!  They were $100, which I thought was a pretty good deal, but hubby wasn't convinced.  So, we kept looking around and then, I spotted another couple checking out my chairs...I was panicking!  I was convinced they would buy them, and I wanted to yell across the room, "get away from my chairs!"  lol But, I just kept eyeing Stacy, then the chairs, and making my sad puppy dog face.  Stacy just kept laughing at me.  Finally, the other couple walked away, and Stacy said if I really wanted them I could get them, so I ran to the front to pay for them as fast as I could!

They need to be reupholstered, but I figure with all the tutorials I have pinned on pinterest, I should be able to manage. I can't wait to get started, but first, I have to paint the kitchen and hang new moldings. Then, make curtains....THEN, I will finally be able to get started...so I figure by the summer time...lol but I'll be sure to share pics when they are done!

Our Christmas Tree + Another great vintage find!

Just wanted to share some pics of our tree and some of my favorite ornaments.  I actually did pretty well because most of these ornaments where bought before I ever even thought of having kids, but only 2 of our ornaments are breakable!  How's that for good luck, huh!

This is from Ian's first Christmas.

Here's our mantle.  Sorry my pics are blurry...I am not liking this new camera at all!  I love that my hubby surprised me with a new one after I broke my other one, but I seriously hate this thing!  (sorry hunny if your reading this...love you!  ; ) I guess I will just have to start saving up for a new one.  Anywho...

I've had this music box since I was a baby

Got a whole village of these little houses for 50 cents a piece at walgreens one year after Christmas!  They are all adorable but I only had room for a couple on the mantle.  I've got a better spot for them where I can put the whole village out, but my little honey badger can reach them, and that probably won't end well, so they will just have to wait till he's a bit older to be on display...

My parents brought each of the kids these snow globes from there trip to Colorado.

Now this is my 1928 ice cream maker!  I found this at an estate sale for $8...I feel in love with it.  I love the color, the rust, everything.  Then, when we got home, I looked it up...turns out this exact model, in this condition sells for $450!

My hubby was like you sure you don't want to sell it???  I guess I could and use the $$$ to get a new camera, but it's not going anywhere!  I love it so much I literally sat and drank my coffee and looked at it every morning for like three days after we brought it home.  It just makes me smile every time I look at it.  Merry Christmas!

Vintage Patterns

My hubby and I have been hitting garage sales, flea markets, and estate sales lately, and we have got some great finds.  I was really excited when I found two boxes of vintage patterns.  I am such a pattern hoarder!  But I really can't wait to make some of these!

I love the peplum!

I love the hips on this one...and I love reading all the descriptions of the patterns...they don't write 'em like that anymore!

This has to be my fave.  I love the little top coat, and this just reminds me of my grandmother.

love the low back!

Sophie will definitely have this dress for the summer!  I looovvvvee it!

I really like the detail at the bust of the sundress...and the fabric is so pretty...will have to try to find something similar for this one.

Number 1...although I totally think I could pull off that collar...lol

I just though the neckline was so cool.  I really want to make this one just to see how its done.

This dress reminds me of the walkaway dress.  I was really excited about it because I have been wanting to change up the walkaway dress, but because the construction is different from what I was used to, I haven't been able to figure out how to make the changes...hoping this will be easier, and I might finally get to make the dress I've had in my head for almost a year now...although it will probably have to wait till after the new year since I am making most our Christmas presents this year.
